Sic Vita Est marks my debut into the world of lo-fi, a genre where imperfections are embraced, and authenticity takes center stage. Lo-fi’s fusion of hip hop rhythms and jazz-inspired melodies captivated me, offering creative liberation and a unique sense of freedom that deeply resonated.
Released alongside Matters of the Heart, this project emerged during a tumultuous period in my life. Though I couldn’t fully articulate the emotional undercurrents at the time, they found expression through these tracks. Sic Vita Est reflects the acceptance of life’s imperfections and explores the challenges of internal struggles, including the presence of a metaphorical saboteur that influenced this creative journey.
This album invites listeners to embrace the raw, imperfect, and deeply human essence of lo-fi music. Perfect for moments of introspection, study, or relaxation, Sic Vita Est blends emotive beats with a profound exploration of life’s imperfections.
